Brad Turner It's All So 2025  24-96

Pianist and composer Brad Turner adds percussionist Jack Duncan for a number of the tracks here on his latest trio release with Darren Radtke/b and Bernie Arai/dr. For the core threesome, Turner shows his post bop ideas on a mild “All Ocean Views” and assertive “Glory Days”. Duncan makes his presence known at the get-go, simmering on the congas on the intro to the hip calypso of “Mr. Charles” while his timbales hum for Turner on the salsa’d “Wondercamp”. Turner has a confident and full touch, stately on his speak-lowish “It’s All So” and going urgently dark for Cole Porter’s “Love For Sale”. Swinging in the digits.
